How to draw Henna Tattoos?

I have always liked Henna Tattoos for 2 reasons - First, I think there are a wonderful expression of art and secondly because they are not permanent. That way you can keep changing them according to how you feel at that particular time. When I was younger I used to get a lot of Celtic's designs, recently I have been making my own abstract patterns and last week I just did a Hippo campus! a nice fun Sea Horse that is.

We were reading a book on Sea Horses to the kids and their illustrations were so awesome that I just had to have a Sea Horse in  my arm.

You will only need a tube of Henna. I buy mine in a small Indian market near my house.

I have had this tube for a while. I keep it in the fridge and it works well. Now with Henna you never know! some days I get a nice dark color and some days it does not seem to take. I am not sure why.

Any how, after you have chosen your image, paint the outline with the henna tube. I like to make it nice and thick.

Then fill in the details

Now you have to leave the Henna on your arm for a while - Try not to move too much so it will not peel too soon. I try to leave mine for 30 minutes or more. Wash the henna off with water and you are done!!

The tattoo should last you 2 weeks or so. It will get lighter and lighter everyday!

1 week after application
