Let CURIOUS GEORGE® teach your kids to count to 100: Yes, the monkey is back and he is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month!!!

CURIOUS GEORGE® Takes on the Arts, is premiering on September 5th, 2011 on PBS KIDS. This is Season 6 and it is great!! Another good news is that they are also re-airing some episodes featuring his friend Marco in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month!

My daughter is already hooked on it!! We have always liked CURIOUS GEORGE® as I love science and always wanted my kids to be curious like George and experiment. As you may know, CURIOUS GEORGE® was designed to inspire kids to explore science, math and engineering. We often end up doing the quick fun experiments they show at the end of each episode!

For this 6th series is all about the arts so it is quite different, think painting, singing, dancing (however math is always there!!) In the first episode airing September 5th called "Auctioneer George", The man with the yellow hat shows George the difference between $1 and $100 in a very clever way, using popcorn and a 10X10 matrix. I loved it - so simple. You should try it with your kids. Check it out in this video:

I like to encourage you to go to their website: Click here to go to website In there you can find the TV times so you can watch the episodes. You can also let the kids play some games. We love the ones in "Day at the Beach". My kids love making the sand castles - and the best part of that? no sand mess to clean up!!!

I also like this other clip I found about George and Marco making a pinata. I though it was great, as you know I like to make my kid's pinatas - so here is the easiest and very accurate way to make a round pinata using a balloon, as explained by Marco:

However, if you want more details about making all sort of pinatas, here is one I made earlier! How to make a Titanic Pinata?

I can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes with my own little monkeys.... Here is the schedule:

September 5th, 2011 - "Auctioneer George" and "Sock Monkey Opera"
September 6th, 2011 - "Hamster Cam" and "The Great Monkey Detective"
September 7th, 2011 - "George and the Giant Thumb" and "Shutter Monkey"

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the new episodes to do this review. However, the opinions given are truly my own. This post has not been edited by third parties. No other compensation was given.
